I’ve been coming to Max for lunch for years and the food served is consistently great tasting. I’ve tried a lot most if there items on their menu, from hot dogs, to cheese burgers, Italian beef and Italian beef burgers. It’s a small place with a feel that’s welcoming and unpretentious.
Nice alternative to larger Burger chain restaurants. I was pleasantly surprised to find they offered turkey burgers. They also offered breaded and grilled chicken sandwiches and halal versions of just about everything.
Max’s is a hidden spot, you got to visit. The team behind the counter is there forever. They are polite, fast and efficient. The quality of the food is always top notch. I think they can charge more for every item if you ask me. Awesome job guys! Keep it up!
I’ve been coming here for many years and they have maintained the quality and friendliness. One of the best halal cheese burger and fries in the city. Everything is fresh, the beef is juicy and their hotdogs stay true to Chicago standards. Their grilled chicken sandwich is good too.
This place was recommended by a Chicago native. I asked for a good Chicago dog, and definitely found it here! The staff was helpful and engaging. The hot-dog was freakin incredible! It did not disappoint to the legend of a Chicago dog! I highly recommend this place.
Hole in the wall hotdog joint, Max’s Take-Out met our quest for the perfect Chicago dog with triumph. I had the gyro, which was truly delicious, and the fries were out of this world. Highly recommended. Thanks!
Let us introduce ourselves
Few words about company
Max’s has been a Chicago Loop staple since 1988. We began our journey selling our famous Chicago style hot dogs in the landmark Reliance building (on State and Washington) across from Marshall Fields and Block 37. In just 185 square feet, we were serving up classic Chicago- based, street-food staples – from Vienna Beef Hot Dogs, to Scala’s Italian Beef, and Tom Tom Tamales.
Fast-forward nearly 7 years later and we opened our current location on State and Adams in 1995. It now stands as the oldest hot dog stand in the loop, keeping the Chicago dog legacy going in that location since 1962.
We upgraded our location to 750 square feet, added our now classic Cheeseburgers and fresh-cut French Fries to our menu, and have been happily serving the Loop the Chicago food they know and love.
